Pilgrim Park Middle School has been recognized as a Wisconsin School of Recognition by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) for the 2024-25 school year, an honor that highlights the school’s strong commitment to student growth and academic achievement.
Pilgrim Park earned this distinction in the High Achieving category, which recognizes Title I schools demonstrating consistently high levels of academic performance. Schools are selected based on a rigorous set of criteria, including overall achievement, measurable student growth, and success in reducing achievement gaps - particularly among students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
“This distinction confirms what we believe: when you pair high expectations with unwavering support, middle schoolers can achieve anything,” said Pilgrim Park Middle School Principal Kelly Szesterniak. “The true reward is seeing our students’ grit and our teachers’ passion in action every day. This recognition belongs to every family, educator, and student who shows up ready to grow.”
The Wisconsin Schools of Recognition program celebrates schools that are helping all students succeed, with a focus on those who have historically faced additional challenges. Pilgrim Park’s recognition underscores the collective efforts of its staff and community to create an environment where every student can thrive.
“This honor speaks to the dedication of our educators and the resilience of our students,” said Elmbrook Schools Superintendent Dr. Mark Hansen. “Pilgrim Park continues to set a strong example of what’s possible when a school community is united around student success.”
